Dream Cafe - Best Pancakes in Dallas?

Waking up hungry, pancakes sounded like a really good thing. But where to find ones that didn't taste as artificial as the ones you get at IHOP and the like?

The Dream Cafe sounded like it might be a good place to check out. With two locations in downtown Dallas and in Addison, I decided to check out the latter as it was closer (word of warning though, the Addison location closes at 3pm daily). It's located on the corner of Beltline and the Dallas North Tollway in a shopping center constructed more like a maze than anything else. Those of you with a GPS will appreciate the exact coordinates that follow - W 96 49' 12.24" N 32 57' 1.75" (google maps link).

The service was quick and attentive. I ordered the 'Cloud Cakes', which were described as 'fluffy ricotta pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and creme fraiche', along with a side of bacon. The pancakes tasted as good as they looked, and this is what they looked like:

The bacon was also done rather nicely, and all together, it was less than $15, so delicious and not a wallet breaker - always a Morsel Institute plus!

Welcome to MINT

Welcome to the Morsel Institute of North Texas (MINT)! If you've ever found yourself in Dallas, hungry, and with no idea of where to go, we're here to solve your problem!

Talking to people who've been in Dallas their entire lives, people who've lived here a few years, and some who were just visiting, a common thread arose in conversation - where to go to eat?

Dallas is home to some very tasty restaurants, but a significant percentage of people have no idea they exist, or where to find them. There are innumerable reviews for the high end restaurants, but there are few satisfactory guides to the places that are under $25 a plate but still make your taste buds dance and sing.

So stick around with the Morsel Institute of North Texas (MINT) as we post reviews for local Dallas restaurants that don't break the bank, but beat big chain restaurants by a mile!
